College life

College is becoming really over-whelming the past couple of weeks. Ive been getting a lot more homework and now that baseball practice is starting that takes up a lot of time too. In high school I never had to do homework but now that im in college I have to or I will fail. It's tough because I am always tired from baseball practice then I have to do all my homework and studying when I get back to my dorm. The first couple of weeks were pretty easy. I didnt have very much work to do in my classes and baseball hadn't gotten started yet. But now we have morning workouts at 6 am and after school practice and it's hard to make time for all my school work. In high school we only had practice after school for a couple hours and I never had much homework to do anyway. I end up having to stay up really late trying to get everything done. The good thing is, it is all making me more responsible. It forces me to use my time more wisely and get my stuff done on time. I used to procrastinate on everything. I wouldn't do any of my assignments until right before they were due. But in high school I could do that and get away with it. In college I have to start my assignments early and put effort in all of it or I will get bad grades on everything. Also, if I get bad grades my coach will make me run til I puke. College is doing a lot of good things for me though too. I am meeting a lot of new people and I have made a lot of new friends. And even though it's hard, baseball is still really fun. I am probably in the best shape of my life from all the conditioning we do and I really like all of my team mates My parents still call me pretty much everyday. They're still not used to me being away from home. Although college is stressfull and over-whelming sometimes, I am slowly getting used to it. And I know it will all pay off in the end.

September 11

Today is September 11th. The ten year anniversary of the terrorist attack. It seems like it wasn't that long ago. I was too young to even understand what was going on that day, but I remember seeing a lot of people crying so it was kind of scary. My sister who is five years older than me is the one who told me first. She just said that some people ran two airplanes into the Twin Towers in New York. I didn't even know what the Twin Towers were either. Throughout the years I remember the nation really coming together as a country. I guess it took a tragedy like that to bring the country closer. I don't see how anybody could do something like they did to us. It was shocking. But even today, ten years later, there is a lot of people that still show they're respect. I watched the Cowboys football game and the whole team and coaches were all wearing FDNY hats instead of their normal Cowboys hats. There was a lot of stuff on TV today about it too. It was a terrible day 10 years ago but at the end, it brought america closer together.
